हम बात कर रहे हैं असम कि, जहां के कई जिलों में पिछले कुछ दशकों में बंग्लादेशी की घुसपैठियों के कारण मुस्लिम आबादी 80% से ज्यादा हो पहुंच चुकी है। ऐसे तथ्य सामने आए हैं कि असम में जब कांग्रेस और वामपंथियों की सरकार थी यहां बंगलादेशी घुसपैठियों को वोट बैंक के लालच में फर्ज़ी दस्तावेजों के आधार पर भारतीय नागरिकता दी की गई। कांग्रेस के शासनकाल में असम में बंग्लादेशी घुसपैठियों की वजह से मुस्लिम आबादी 35% तक पहुंच गई थी। क्योंकि बांग्लादेशी घुसपैठिये कांग्रेस के लिए हमेशा से एक मजबूत वोटबैंक रहे हैं, जिसका असम के कई नेताओं ने किया है। आपको बता दें कि असम के कई जिलों में इनकी आबादी 80% तक हो गई है।
